How do you get out an oil stain? Just leave it to Dylan to find out!

That was the question of the day at our house, especially since we have an old truck that leaves a new spill nearly every day! So, when it came time for this years science fair, after some really crazy ideas were thrown out, Mom came up with one of her own, and handed it over to my little man!

Dylan tested our driveway with dawn dishwashing soap, baking soda, green clean, and cat litter. After seeing that the baking soda and the cat litter were working, he decided to do another experiment, and mix the baking soda and cat litter together.

Dylan also won first place at our science fair, and his project moved on to the District Science fair, where he didn't win, but he did a good job! He did the whole project by himself, including cutting out the letters on the Cricut! He's already talking about starting a new project! Gotta love that boy! and I do!!

Lollipop! Lollipop! ooo

This little girl LOVES lollipops! It was on her wish list at Christmas, it's her email address, it's all she talks about some days, so when we saw a projects on Science Buddies, about lollipops, I knew we had a winner!
Her projects was making suckers, and seeing if you could make suckers without using corn syrup, and just lain sugar. After some experimenting (including a burnt batch, a mistake that turned out to be a good thing) we determined you can!

And then we really did have a winner!

Oops! That picture is supposed to be of her holding her blue ribbon! She won first place! That's as far as 4th graders can go, at our school. I wonder what my lollipop girl will love next year... hopefully something we can learn more about and make another awesome science fair project!

The latest and greatest.

The latest and greatest piano recital was held, just last Friday, February 3rd. It was a "mini recital" which meant the students were divided into different nights, so they could play three different pieces. They all did a great job! Kate and Afton played quite well, and they are progressing, I love to hear them all play. Dylan recently started with this teacher, so she didn't have hime play in this recital...but the next time for sure.

M&M's and a Sweet Baby, What more could we ask for?

So, I'm an aunt again! To the cutest little baby, Riley Ann Wagner. She was born December 29, 2011, in Las Vegas, and was blessed January 15,2012. We got to spend Martin Luther King's weekend, getting to meet her, and since we were in Vegas, decided to see some of their sites. We danced with the M&M's at M&M World,

we went to Coke World,

we saw the Statue of Liberty,
saw the beautiful botanical garden,
and oohed and ahhed at the water show, but most of all we druelled on our newest cousin, and enjoyed every minute, knowing soon that Wagner family is moving back to Michigan.

We now have a young man on our hands!

Hard to believe, but my dear young son has reached the age of young man hood, that doesn't sound right, but you know what I mean, right? Dylan is now 12! He was ordained a deacon on January 1, 2012. He had to go to Primary...all year long! Kind of funny, because in our ward there is two other boys who have late December birthdays, and a girl with a late December birthday, so he wasn't the only one who had to wait, and he wasn't the only one to progress. Grandma and Grandpaw Bryant came up, actually on Dylan's Birthday, so Grandma could have a cornea transplant, and stayed until he could be ordained, and Aunt Kathryn, Uncle Jonathan, Emma, Drew and Jacob came to be with us. They were so kind to come up. Nana had to miss it, since Callie was having a new little baby, which meant that the Wagner's missed it too.

It was a nice day, and we are so proud of Dylan, and the way he is living his life. I can't believe he is 12, seems like just yesterday he was a tiny babe, but I guess it was 12 years ago!
Kathryn took more pics, but she hasn't sent them to me yet.

A Star is Born!

I had decided that Jocelynn needed an extra-curricular activity, that wasn't very pricey, thus making our options were limited, so when I saw a flyer at the music store for an after-school drama program, I decided that to call and get more information, they said that they had already started, but needed more people, and that they were meeting at the park. (I guess I should have been a little leery right then), but we decided to go ahead and give it a try. Daniel took her to her first practice, and Jocelynn was a good sport. They met at first at the park, but when it got colder, they met behind the glass store, that has a room for rent. The director also had other casts for other plays who met at her home in Grantsville. So, it was nice that she found a place, so we didn't have to go to Grantsville each week. Anyways, to make a long story short, Jocelynn was cast as a "servant girl" and "Countess Angelina DeRosa Marie Tarantella Vincente Ala Gina Malettie Gallardi De Bella Donna..." in a play called "Pirates Rule the Seas" whichwas a musical. She was the cutest little actress there ever was, and we decided that she definitely stole the show! She just shined up on that stage. She did her very best, and we couldn't have been prouder! A funny sidenote: The play was on two different nights, Nana came up on one of the nights, that she could, to see the play, and it also the night of Kate's choir concert. Well, the night before the other plays she was directing, went way over, so our play started about 40 minutes late, so the next night, we decided to run and catch part of Kate's performance, but, apparently the show didn't run over, and Jocelynn almost missed the whole thing, thanks to her crazy mother and nana! Another, even funnier, sidenote (especially if you didn't the first one was very funny): Jocelynn played the mother of a girl who falls in love with the "mean captain" of a ship, that's been taken over by pirates, well that girl, in the middle of falling in love...is playing, twisting, and twirling her long bangs, and is acting oblivious to the man she is in love with... Nana thought it was part of the script, but Nye! It was sooo funny! I wish my camera had batteries, and I could have videoes her, because I'm pretty sure it would have gone viral...or won America's Funniest Videos! Here's a video of my cute gal, not the funny one, I hope! I didn't watch it first, and it's taking forever to upload, so if it works, I'm posting it.
